Where Passion Leads to Extraordinary Results
We believe a student’s passion for the arts can propel them to success in every aspect of life. We are committed to fostering that success by providing a strong foundation for artistic and academic growth in an inclusive and challenging environment that encourages exploration, expands imagination and cultivates creativity.
If you believe in the power of the arts, and want to support young artists, please consider giving to our arts program so we can continue to help students thrive!
Cultivating Community for Young Artists
Deeply connected to New Mexico, NMSA is proud to serve 215 students from 29 communities, pueblos and reservations across the state. NMSA brings these artist-scholars together–many of whom hail from rural areas–to experience the richness of New Mexico arts history, culture and industry, thanks to generous partnerships with local organizations such as the Institute of American Indian Arts, SITE Santa Fe and Meow Wolf, and renowned artists and galleries. With these resources, NMSA augments studio and classroom work with in-the-field instruction, presentations, performances, exhibitions and internships.

The Art of NMSA
New Mexico School for the Arts helps students cultivate their own artistic voice, fostering broad intellectual development, so that in addition to developing strong technique, students will begin to refine their personal artistic vision and purpose, and the means to communicate that vision through their art.
At New Mexico School for the Arts, student portfolios are continually growing and evolving, documenting the challenges and successes of student work and enabling students to become more aware of and invested in their own growth and learning as they prepare for life after high school. Joey Chavez“I can’t think of a better place to support than a school that is preparing New Mexico’s kids so effectively for the future. Their results are inarguably some of the best in the state.”
Vince Kadlubek“The college preparation steps that NMSA takes even as early as 9th grade surprised us – it’s clear they take the advancement of these students very seriously and have established the infrastructure to back it up.”
