Senior Dance Projects

Likely the most unique Senior Year in the history of NMSA, the choreographic works in this production reflect on and portray the depth and breadth of its impact. It is with thoughtful introspection, creative collaboration, and generous artistic presentation that Christina Bishop, Isabella Fletcher-Woofson, Romy Gates, Giovanna Kalangis, and Emma Singleton have produced these works.
Each Senior developed their piece through a process of research, writing, revising, and submitting a proposal, building a rehearsal and production schedule, choreographing and collaborating, filming, editing, and finally submitting their final product after rounds of peer and instructor feedback and revision.
Some students chose to choreograph and dance in their own piece, others chose to utilize fellow dancers from the department, one pair of Seniors collaborated on their piece, start to finish.
It has been such an honor to witness these students as they have navigated the challenges of creating original work, as well as the complex layers off-campus training/rehearsing. It cannot be said enough, resilience has been at the forefront of each of their processes and what they have created is completely remarkable.
