Visual Arts seniors will be presenting their artwork in an exhibition titled “Unlucky,” April 29 through May 15 at the Lannan Foundation in Santa Fe (309 Read Street, near the Railyard). An opening reception with refreshments and music performed by the NMSA Jazz Ensemble will be held Friday, April 29, from 5-7pm, with student artwork available for purchase throughout the exhibition.

Called “Unlucky” because thirteen students total will be presenting their work, the exhibition will feature a variety of artistic creations, including sculpture, photography, painting, portraiture, mixed media, and collage. Visual Arts seniors are thrilled to present this culmination of what they’ve learned about various types of artwork throughout their four years at NMSA, as well as how they’ve honed their skills. Faculty member Sarah Spengler commented, “Over the past four years, I have watched this group of students question, internalize, and finally embrace the fundamental principles of design.”

The exhibition will feature the work of Asa Benson-Core, Samual Ellvinger, Cole Joyce, Kiana Lamberton, MJ Lee, Paloma Mankus (artwork “Cream” pictured above), Claire Motsinger (artwork pictured right), Ty Mott, Magdalena Nero, Ana GabrielaPerea, Lauren Sarkissian, Taylor Scism, and Kayleigh Warren. Two seniors will be available to talk about their artwork to the public every Saturday and Sunday at the Lannan Foundation from 12pm to 5pm, or by appointment, through the exhibition’s run.
