“Perspective” is the annual juried Visual Arts Department exhibition, curated by outside jurors selected for their impact and role in our regional arts community. Jurors are invited to curate a selective exhibition of 9-12th grade visual arts student artworks in the Thaw Visual Arts Gallery on the campus of NMSA (500 Montezuma Ave., Santa Fe, NM 87501)

Students are given a set of gentle parameters, such as a support to work on, and given an opportunity to develop their own vision and voice in the creation of a unique artwork.

Event Description: A madcap, money-chasing, song-and-dance free-for-all, The Cocoanuts crashes headfirst into tropical absurdity, where high society vacationers, crooked land deals, and rapid-fire wit collide at a Florida hotel on the brink of chaos. Packed with Marx Brothers–style anarchy and Irving Berlin’s irresistible tunes, this is classic comedy turned up to eleven: fast, fearless, and joyfully unhinged.

Event Description: As the Visual Arts class of 2026 prepares to graduate from New Mexico School for the Arts (NMSA), they face the next chapter of their lives and a future that is uncertain and yet full of potential. The Senior Thesis Exhibition, Ouroboros, reflects a period of transition for these students; a time when everything seems to be coming to an end and is full of so many beginnings at the same time.

Event Description: NMSA Vocal and String Orchestra students and faculty are proud to present the 4th annual Spring Strings & Song recital at the beautiful Center for Contemporary Art (CCA) gallery space, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, on Thursday, March 26th, from 6-7:30pm. You will be treated to modern, baroque, classical, and popular works that feature the NMSA Chorus and String Orchestra, as well as chamber ensembles and soloists performing vocal and instrumental collaborative works.

Event Description: Join NMSA’s Theatre Department for All-Night Diner: The NMSA One Acts Festival running March 19-21st at NMSA’s Bluedio Theatre. The lights never go off at this 24-hour diner. Over the course of a single day and night, strangers cross paths, conversations collide, and lives quietly (and not so quietly) change. All-Night Diner serves up a collection of original one-act plays written by Creative Writing students and brought to life by Theatre students—each story unfolding in the same diner, each revealing a different slice of humanity.

“Envision” Junior Exhibition- Visual Arts Department

Event Description: Each Spring semester, our Junior Visual Artists embark on new personal projects, with teacher and peer guidance, to develop a series of self-expressive pieces featured in this collective class exhibition. Students research artists and themes of their choosing as they merge personally meaningful concepts and media. As a group, they learn to install the exhibition with instructor support and develop pre-professional visual arts skills along the way.

“Homecoming | an Alumni Invitational Exhibition” – Visual Arts Department

Works by Ezri Horne ‘17, Ana Atalaya Magdalena ‘21, Broadus Mobbs ‘18, Vero Silva ‘21, and Tse Tsan ‘18 will be on display and feature metal and kinetic sculpture, digital and analog drawing, painting, ceramic sculpture, printmaking, photography and more!

“Spring Strings & Song”- Music Department

Event Description: NMSA Vocal and String Orchestra students and faculty are proud to present the 4th annual Spring Strings & Song recital at the beautiful Center for Contemporary Art (CCA) gallery space, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, on Thursday, March 26th, from 6-7:30pm. You will be treated to modern, baroque, classical, and popular works that feature the NMSA Chorus and String Orchestra, as well as chamber ensembles and soloists performing vocal and instrumental collaborative works.

NMSA: Latin Night

Location: NMSA’s Zane Bennett Gathering Space
Event Description: Join us for a fun-filled evening of music as we raise funds to support the NMSA Cultural Room! Latin Night will take place from 6:30-9:30 at NMSA. Student performances kick off the night, showcasing our Latin and Mariachi ensembles. Then, get ready to dance as Nosotros takes the stage with their Latin sound ($20). VIP ($50) ticket includes preferred seating and a delicious meal. You can also purchase a meal and drink at the event ($7). Come celebrate, support, and let the rhythm move you!

“All Night Diner: One Act Festival”- Theatre Department

Event Description: Join NMSA’s Theatre Department for All-Night Diner: The NMSA One Acts Festival running March 19-21st at NMSA’s Bluedio Theatre. The lights never go off at this 24-hour diner. Over the course of a single day and night, strangers cross paths, conversations collide, and lives quietly (and not so quietly) change. All-Night Diner serves up a collection of original one-act plays written by Creative Writing students and brought to life by Theatre students—each story unfolding in the same diner, each revealing a different slice of humanity.

“Envision” Junior Exhibition- Visual Arts Department

Location: NMSA’s Thaw Gallery, 500 Montezuma Ave.
Event Description: Each Spring semester, our Junior Visual Artists embark on new personal projects, with teacher and peer guidance, to develop a series of self-expressive pieces featured in this collective class exhibition. Students research artists and themes of their choosing as they merge personally meaningful concepts and media. As a group, they learn to install the exhibition with instructor support and develop pre-professional visual arts skills along the way.

“Homecoming | an Alumni Invitational Exhibition” – Visual Arts Department

Event Description: With NMSA’s Visual Arts Department in its 16th year of existence, many of our graduates are fully entrenched in their own art careers. Please join us in celebrating five exceptional Visual Arts Department Alumni in the second iteration of “Homecoming” | an Alumni Invitational Exhibition at NMSA’s Thaw Visual Arts Gallery. Works by Ezri Horne ‘17, Ana Atalaya Magdalena ‘21, Broadus Mobbs ‘18, Vero Silva ‘21, and Tse Tsan ‘18 will be on display and feature metal and kinetic sculpture, digital and analog drawing, painting, ceramic sculpture, printmaking, photography and more!
