Poetry Project Exhibition CW + VA

NMSA’s CW&L and VA students enjoyed a poetry workshop with Santa Fe Poet Laureate Elizabeth Jacobson in Fall 2020 (virtually) to draft poems. Then, students selected their own poem excerpts to design a T-Shirt graphic. Youthwork’s David Sloan printed the shirts and Axle Contemporary’s Jerry Wellman and Matthew Chase Daniel instructed students on good design ideas. This guest artist team is creating and self-publishing an anthology of the student’s poems and designs, due to be printed in late-April. We will host a virtual poetry reading and book launch on F April 23 with students and guest artists alike via Collected Works Bookstore. Axle Contemporary Van will display prints, books, and poems by the student artists in their mobile gallery for the month of May.
