HeARTbeats: Adan Gallegos

“The staff and donors of NMSA have given me a chance to do what I love and for that I am forever grateful.”

A sophomore vocalist at New Mexico School for the Arts, Adan began looking for art schools as a sixth grader, after he saw the remake of the movie “Fame.”

Initially interested in being a hip-hop singer, Adan has enjoyed exploring new music and styles of singing, and was selected to participate in New Mexico Music Educators Association (NMMEA) All-State Mixed Choir in January 2015.

“There is so much the average human can do with their voice,” he writes. “Before NMSA I never thought I’d go to college or even graduate from high school, but now I want to go into Musical Theater.”

Prior to coming to the school, “I didn’t know where I belonged in this world, and NMSA has given me something that I could never repay them for: a chance. The staff and donors of NMSA have given me a chance to do what I love and for that I am forever grateful.”

Your support makes it possible for students like Adan to explore their art and passions, and we can’t thank you enough!
