Perspective is the annual juried Visual Arts Department exhibition, curated by outside jurors selected for their impact and role in our regional arts community. Jurors are invited to curate a selective exhibition of 9-12th grade visual arts student artworks in the Thaw Visual Arts Gallery. Students are given free rein to submit up to three works for consideration that explore any media of their choosing with teacher and mentor guidance. This year’s exhibition will invite everyone to explore a student suggested theme of Pasión, Cultura, e Historia, which allows each artist to reflect on their home culture and traditions. This exhibition supports student pre-professional training and exposure to art world exhibitions while providing an opportunity for self-expression.
This year’s jurors are Hoka Skenandore, IAIA Assistant Professor of Studio Arts – Painting/Drawing and NMSA Visual Arts Department alumna Claire Motsinger, Curator at the Millicent Rogers Museum.
