NM School for the Arts partners with Whole Foods for Community Support Day

(November 13, 2014) SANTA FE — On Thursday, November 20, shoppers at both Whole Foods locations in Santa Fe (on Cerrillos Road and St. Francis Road) will be directly helping to support New Mexico School for the Arts. NMSA has been selected to participate in the Whole Foods Market Santa Fe Community Support Day, also known as 5% day. On November 20, 5% of all sales in Santa Fe Whole Foods stores will go to support NMSA’s arts and residence program.

NM School for the Arts will staff tables at both locations throughout the day, with information to share with shoppers about the high school and its dual curriculum comprised of academic and mastery arts education.  NMSA was founded in 2010, and has been steadily growing ever since — its 200-person student body is made up of individuals representing 37 communities across New Mexico. Through private support it is able to provide an optional 5-day Residential Program for NMSA students who live in areas of New Mexico too far from the NMSA campus to reach in a reasonable daily commute.

NMSA was a recipient of the national Arts Schools Network Exemplary School Designation at their annual conference in Denver earlier this year, and has been graded an “A” school for the third year in a row from the New Mexico Public Education Department.
