Congratulations to NMSA’s Dance Department Chair Fernando Ramos- an “Art is the Solution” 2026-2027 awardee!
The Santa Fe Arts Commission and Arts & Culture Department announced seven winners of this year’s Art is the Solution project funding for artists, including Fernando. This annual funding awards $10,000 each to five to seven arts and culture projects that culminate in a public engagement for residents and visitors of Santa Fe.
“The Body Chaotic,” a series of free community arts workshops in multiple mediums, investigating how art helps with self-regulating in times of chaos and how the body is both an impressive machine and an extremely delicate system, culminating in a public choreographed dance performance.
This year’s “Art is the Solution” theme, Coping with Chaos, invited artists to explore how their work responds to the current moment. The Arts Commission received a record-breaking 80 proposals, encompassing an astonishing range of creativity and ingenuity.
